I've wasted so much money trying different external catheters for my dad that I'm honestly ready to stop buying them altogether. One leaks, another falls off overnight, another leaves his skin red. At this point I'm wondering if it's the products or if we're just expecting too much from them. Did anyone actually find one that works consistently?

I felt exactly the same after our third brand failed. I kept searching what is the best male external catheter, expecting everyone to recommend the same product, but that's not what I found. What finally helped was accepting that external catheters simply weren't the right fit for my husband. We switched to a different type of urine management product and haven't looked back. If you've already tried several brands with the same problems, it might be worth considering that the device—not the brand—is the issue.
